Following on from the success of the basic contract law seminar hosted by Midlands Excellence and Business Link for the East Midlands; leading expert in commercial law Nick Blackbourn from Blackbourn & Bond Commercial Solicitors, has presented a second contract law seminar for the West Midlands clients of Midlands Excellence at the BMW Plant Hams Hall in Coleshill, Warwickshire.
Nick provided advice on the basic principles of contract law, technicalities, practical implications and most common pitfalls.
Nick said "I was very honoured to be asked back to host a further seminar for the West Midlands by Midlands Excellence. Contract Law is a specialised area and getting it wrong frequently causes an unnecessary drain on money and other resources for businesses. It is important that business owners and managers understand the principles of basic contract law, realising that both they and their staff are forming them all the time (often without being aware of that fact) and the risks of liability involved if terms of the contract are breached."
Nick explains "Some of the errors business people make can be avoided with even just a basic understanding of the contract from both parties. It is advisable to seek professional help and guidance to avoid disastrous consequences."
Given that the attendees’ feedback scored the event at an average of 5.6 out of 6, on the back of this success, Blackbourn & Bond intend to develop further seminars on this and other business law subjects for local business people.
