Nick Blackbourn

Nick is the firm's founding partner and set up the practice back in 2003 with the aim of creating a dynamic commercial law firm - company solicitors - with an emphasis on strong client relationships and a reputation for excellence. Nick has a wealth of industry based experience working with some of the UK's largest PLC's such as Guinness Plc, Ranks Hovis McDougall Plc, and United International Pictures (UIP).

Nick specialises in company law, especially the commercial sectors, focusing on working alongside clients involved in; company acquisitions and disposals, management buy outs/ins, private equity, commercial contracts, intellectual property and corporate finance and structures.

Dwight Bond

Dwight joined the firm of company solicitors in Shrewsbury in 2005 as an Associate and in 2008 was appointed a Director and recently became an equity owner in the firm. Dwight undertakes a varied portfolio of commercial property work and like Nick brings his industry based experience to the firm which clients find invaluable. He has spent a significant amount of time in the property development and construction industry and is able to bring a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to clients to support his legal advice.

Dwight specialises in commercial and residential site acquisitions and developments, construction, planning, environment, Landlord and Tenant, and licensed trade properties. With a background in leisure and retail he is also able to offer a comprehensive range of legal advice in numerous commercial sectors and has experience of working with major companies such as a national brewery, a European supermarket chain, and a regional building society.

Mark Callahan - Business Development Director

Mark has a wealth of commercial experience; having managed and owned several successful businesses. With an emphasis in the automotive industry, Mark has been involved with establishing start up companies, managing established businesses, and advising several other businesses as a non executive director. In doing so he has acquired substantial insight, true understanding and real experience of the difficulties faced in today’s business world.

The opportunity in April 2009 to become a pioneering, non-lawyer equity owner, in a forward thinking niche commercial law firm, appealed to Mark’s entrepreneurial spirit. This in turn, allows Blackbourn & Bond to offer clients the benefit and considerable knowledge of Mark’s proven track record, assisting with the development of their businesses.
